Taqeef’s HVAC Solutions Help Service Stations Achieve LEED Platinum Certification

Taqeef, the originator of desert cooling systems in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East, supported Enoc’s Gas Station of the Future at Expo2020 in its aim to achieve “Platinum” certification with cooling sustainable, state-of-the-art and energy-efficient solutions.

The project is the world’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certified service station, with a design inspired by the ghaf tree. The gas station of the future was outfitted with 13 next-generation O General Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology indoor and outdoor units to cool 300 square feet of space, according to a statement.

Platinum is the highest possible rating according to LEED, the most widely used green building rating system in the world, and a mark of excellence for highly efficient and economical sustainable design and construction.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, CEO of Enoc Group, said: “As the first service station in the world to achieve LEED platinum certification, this is a prestigious recognition for us. Energy efficiency, sustainability and cost-effectiveness were some of the key factors considered when designing the gas station of the future, and Taqeef’s HVAC solutions played a vital role in helping the station achieve his certificate.

“Taqeef has been at the forefront of advocating air conditioning technologies that achieve increasing levels of energy conservation beyond the benchmark standard to reduce the environmental impacts associated with excessive energy consumption. We are proud to have played an important role in supporting Enoc in realizing its vision of a sustainable and technologically advanced concept,” commented Tariq Al Ghussein, CEO of Taqeef.

“HVAC plays a critical role in achieving LEED certification, as the two main rating categories in the rating system are relevant to HVAC. Thanks to the innovation of our product partners at O General and that of our talented technical team, we were able to deliver a project that will go down in history as the first of its kind, inspiring more project owners to make choices. greener for their HVAC systems,” added Al Ghussein.

VRF systems are durable, cost-effective HVAC systems that offer many benefits, including energy savings, increased comfort, design and installation flexibility, lower maintenance costs, and quiet operation. Thanks to these advantages, VRF technology offers the possibility of obtaining a significant number of points towards LEED certification.

With 50 years of HVAC leadership, Taqeef is setting the agenda for more conscious cooling – with cleaner, greener systems and designs in the residential and commercial sectors. Backed by award-winning knowledge and service expertise, along with installation savings and low equipment lifecycle costs, Taqeef’s insight and added value helps reduce the impact of cooling on the environment, one degree at a time, he said. – TradeArabia Press Service
